nextmedia today announced the appointment of Aaron Scott as Editor of Inside Cricket magazine.
Aaron has an unparalleled affection and association with the game of cricket. He has played the game since the age of six, and could recite the batting averages of the Australian top six well before he could recite the six-times tables. As a maturing fast bowler he was interested in the artillery of speed and bounce and played four first-grade seasons for Sydney University and two first-grade seasons with Western Suburbs. He also opened the bowling for the NSW Under 19 and Under 21 outfits, as well as enjoying a scholarship at the then Australian Cricket Academy.
In the media sphere, Aaron completed an Arts (Media and Communications) degree at Sydney University and has most recently been Deputy Editor of Inside Sport magazine. In his time at Inside Sport, he was five-times nominated as an individual finalist at the Australian Sports Commission Media Awards, and was a vital part of the team that was awarded the prestigious “Best Contribution to Sport” gong at the ASC Awards in 2010. His writing has also featured in the Sun-Herald, Men’s Health, and South African Sports Illustrated.
Commenting on the appointment, David Gardiner, Chief Executive Officer of nextmedia, said: “I am delighted that Aaron is returning to nextmedia as Editor of Inside Cricket. He is a highly credentialed cricket fanatic and one of Australia’s leading sports journalists.”
Commenting on his appointment, Aaron Scott said: “I am thrilled to be joining Inside Cricket as Editor. My passion is sport, but I hold a special place in my life for cricket.”
