Nextmedia today announce that it has acquired the business of Frankie Press from Pacific Star Network. This acquisition includes the brands Frankie & Smith Journal, and a collection of Frankie branded products such as Calendars, Diaries and one-shots.
Frankie and Smith Journal are premium brands with loyal and passionate audiences. The Frankie Press team will remain working from the South Melbourne office and continue to publish Frankie bi-monthly and Smith Journal quarterly. Key service functions will be housed from nextmedia’s Sydney office.
Hamish Bayliss, Managing Director of nextmedia, said “We are excited by the acquisition of Frankie and Smith Journal into our portfolio of magazines and websites and believe this further cements our business as the leader in specialist publishing in Australia”.
General Manager of Frankie Press, Gaye Murray, commented “Frankie Press is passionate about creating content that’s smart, funny, eclectic and a little outside the mainstream, delighting our highly engaged communities and our commercial partners. Nextmedia understands niche audiences better than any other publisher, so it’s the perfect new home for Frankie Press”.
The transaction is due to be completed by mid-September.
