nextmedia to publish Bike Australia

October 24, 2016

Nextmedia today announced plans to publish BIKE Australia magazine under licence from Rodale Inc., the healthy lifestyle media company. BIKE Australia will be published bi-monthly with first issue on sale in December 2016.

BIKE Australia is an exciting magazine (and website) for the enthusiast as it covers the depth and breadth of cycling. It provides readers with tips on technique, nutrition, fitness, feature stories and reviews on the latest cycling products.

BIKE Australia has scope to cover stories from the Grand Tours in Europe, the National Road Series at home and to take the reader along for an adventurous ride on a bike packing trip through regional Australia. Working with industry leading writers from Rodale Inc. and using trusted local contributors means nextmedia will be able to create an exciting and professional magazine for the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Nextmedia announced that Mike Blewitt has been appointed Group Editor – Cycling and will take on the Editor’s role for BIKE Australia. Mike has a great track record both as a competitive rider and as a magazine editor. Derek Recio has been promoted to Advertising Manager – Cycling and will represent both the BIKE Australia and Australian Mountain Bike magazines.

David Gardiner, CEO of Nextmedia said “BIKE Australia is a well respected and trusted voice in the cycling community. BIKE Australia will sit alongside other great sports brands such as Inside Sport, Tracks & Australian Mountain Bike and will enhance nextmedia’s cycling offering. We are very excited to be adding BIKE Australia to our sport portfolio.”

“Australia offers an epic array of opportunities for cycling adventures of all kinds, so we are thrilled to partner with nextmedia to help readers continue to discover, shop, and keep up with the latest stories through the uniquely global lens BIKE Australia provides,” said Rob Novick, Head of Global Business Development.
