Nextmedia forms new consumer technology group based around HYPER, PC PowerPlay and PC Tech Authority.
Sydney, February 2014: Nextmedia is creating a new, integrated consumer technology& gaming group. Bringing together the newly acquired PC & Tech Authority and PC PowerPlay and HYPER, the three brands form the hub of a competitive offering on the newsstand and online.
John Gillooly, after four years experience on PC & Tech Authority and taken up the role of Editor on PC PowerPlay. He brings his passion for PC gaming and hardware innovation to a magazine which dedicates itself to what Gillooly feels is the platform to be on for gaming in 2014. Nextmedia is very pleased to announce that Ben Mansill is coming on board to take the helm of PC & Tech Authority. He brings with him a wealth of consumer technology experience.
Daniel Wilkes continues as Editor on HYPER, continuing to deliver the best on cross-platform gaming and entertainment, with a new focus to develop the online offering.
David Hollingworth will be Managing Editor across the brands, focusing on delivering a whole new online experience for all three magazines. This rounds out one of the best consumer& gaming editorial teams in Australia.
The aim is to deliver simply the best consumer tech coverage on a range of platforms. For games on console, PC or mobile, for enthusiast and performance hardware, to the latest in mobile and home technology, HYPER, PC & Tech Authority, and PC PowerPlay have every base covered.
The combination of print titles is a powerful combination for readers and advertisers alike, providing a complete technology portfolio. In the online space, the aim is the same – to create a hub that covers every facet of modern technology and entertainment, which is easy for readers and visitors to consume, and for advertisers to get the most out of.
The combination of brands makes for one of the most competitive offerings in the market.
“We’re putting the finishing touches on what is already a great team” said David Hollingworth. “We’d like to round out our reviewing power, so we’re sure that we can cover all the reviewing bases, and getting onto building a cracker of a website. I’m really excited about the opportunities ahead of us this year, and so is everyone in the office.”
The new offering is also commercially powerful, providing our advertisers and industry partners with unparalleled consumer access. Nextmedia now has the widest range of product offerings in terms of ad delivery, events, specialised content creation mechanisms, and online reach. With the plan to grow PC PowerPlay and HYPER’s online presences in 2014, that breadth and depth of influence will only increase.
